There's a crisis in ownership, needing ground-up radical solutions. But these come from a brand agency, not activists

We attended a thoughtful and open-minded event held by the long-standing brand-and-trend agency Protein earlier this week. They run a series called Dirty Words - terms whose original meanings have been changed by cultural shifts. The first was “Exclusivity”, the second “Influence”, and the third (which we saw online) was “Ownership”.

It feels optimistic that commercial agencies are sending their feelers out to cultures and models of autonomy and self-determination - we are sure there is much to mutually learn from! Their enthusiasm for DAOs and Web3, as a support for that empowerment, is also clear and refreshing.
